On the return journey Talei mind melds with a dragon. Before the huge beast dies he asks Talei to help free the dragons from the creatures who are threatening their families. Upon her return to the survivors of the dragon attacks, Talei is unable to convince the majority of the danger to themselves and the dragons.
Talei, Adri and a few friends set out for the other continent to discover if the dragons are telling the truth and what they can do to stop the attacks. Will it be possible to save the dragons and achieve a peaceful coexistence with the huge beasts?


DRAGON CLANS
Sie is rescued from the raging sea by a red dragon of the Valdra Clan. The clan adopt her and she learns the ways of the telepathic beasts. The red dragons long to become part of the Dragon Alliance.
Byron is the human representative for the Dragon Alliance. The four clans have discovered the Valdra are spying on them and they believe the red clan is planning an attack to drive them from their lands.
Byron accompanies the four clans as they approach the Valdra to warn them not to consider such action. Their aggressive stance puts the red dragons on the defensive and the two sides teeter on the edge of war.
Sie and Byron convince the dragons to talk, but will they be able to come to an agreement with such distrust between the two factions? The two humans would like to get to know one another, but this is impossible when they are on opposite sides of the dragon conflict.


Dragon Ice
Silver dragons keep Neisha's people trapped beneath an icy plateau. In her dreams she meets Tane who promises to come and help her. Neisha tries to dissuade him, convinced he will end up trapped with her people.
Tane and his friend travel through cold, freezing weather but as he nears Neisha's home, he has an accident and finds himself at the mercy of the silver dragons. He is rescued by his travelling companion and taken to Neisha's home caverns. Now Neisha's worse fears have come true, he is trapped with her people.
Tane has a secret he has not told Neisha. He hatches a plan to free not only himself, but all of Neisha's people too. To put his plan into action he must go to the surface, but the silver dragons attack when humans are seen on the icy plateau. Will he succeed, or will he remain trapped under the ice.

Adrian's Story
Adri is frustrated. Life is dull and restrictive in Boone and he longs for adventure and travel. Several of his friends feel the same and they decide to set out into the wilder interior of the continent. On the afternoon of their departure adventure comes to them in the form of dragons spouting flames.
Talei is a survivor from the first settlement to be attacked. She pleads with the Boone councilors for help in the fight against the dragons, but the elders seems more concerned with their own safety.
Adri and his friends accompany Talei on her return journey in the hope of finding the excitement they long crave.
