Hokitika is known as the "Cool Little Town" and home to many artistic pursuits: jade and bone carving, painting, stone and copper sculptures. Host to the annual Sand and Driftwood Sculpture Competition.

Most nights tourists and locals with cameras poised, line the beach boulder's like a colony of inquisitive meercats to watch the last sun's rays dip into the ocean.

Below are some photos from my personal collection. The scenery inspires my over-active fantasy author mind.

I write Fantasy (with mature themes) as Wendy Scott, and Children's as WJ Scott.
Recently, my books have won international awards.

My current Fantasy WIPs (Works in Progress) are:
Pyramidion, Book 3, The Windflowers Trilogy.
+ The Windflowers Box Set.
Hoping to release later in 2017.

Stuff like this fascinates me. I had to laugh about the correlation between red hair and witches because I have a lot of red-headed family (my side and my hubby's). Wonder what that means? LOL

Loved the pictues! What an amazing beach filled with art. I can see why nature inspires you much...does the same for me. I added book one of Wildflower series to my kindle and look forward to reading it. Great post.

Stunning pictures, Wendy! What a fabulous setting you have. I have happy memories of a wonderful holiday in 'Rarotonga' The Cook Islands were simply breathtaking. I long to explore more of the North and South Island. Great post and I look forward to reading your fantasy work.
